Algolysis Ltd is looking to expand its team with a a skilled IT Technician!
Algolysis Ltd (www.algolysis.com) is a research and innovation SME focusing on tackling real-life problems by devising state-of-the-art algorithmic and engineering solutions. An active member of Cyprus’ and EU’s innovation ecosystem, Algolysis is currently looking to expand its team with an IT Technician to support its internal operations, office infrastructure, and occasional customer deployments.
As an IT Technician at Algolysis, you will be responsible for maintaining the company’s IT systems, networks, and hardware, while also assisting in the deployment and servicing of equipment for R&D projects and customers when needed. You will ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations for the team and contribute to the technical reliability of our innovation projects.
Your Responsibilities
- Maintaining and supporting internal IT infrastructure (desktops, laptops, peripherals, servers and network equipment).
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows computers and office systems.
- Performing basic installation and maintenance of Linux systems used in projects.
- Managing network setup and configuration (LAN/WAN, WiFi, switches, routers, firewalls).
- Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Ensuring backups, updates, and IT security measures are in place and functioning.
- Documenting IT procedures, configurations, and interventions.
- Assisting with equipment setup and deployment for R&D projects and customer pilots.
- Providing occasional on-site support to clients when required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, or similar.
- Good knowledge of Windows installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of Linux environments.
- Familiarity with computer hardware and peripheral setup.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, switches, WiFi).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Would be awesome to have
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V).
- Knowledge of IT security practices (firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection).
- Familiarity with server setup and administration.
- Hands-on experience with structured cabling and small network deployments.
- Previous experience in IT support or system administration roles.
